Abstract

An estimation of structure and dynamics of oak stands in Belarusian and Ukrainian Polissya and a comparative analysis of stands’ mensurational indices has been carried out. It has been established that over the past 10 years there has been a tendency towards reduction of oak stands area. At the same time share of oak stands by area has also been decreasing. In Belorussian and Ukrainian Polissya medium-productive and high-productive oak stands dominate, with a relative stocking of 0.64 - 0.71. The age structure of oak stands is dominated by mid-aged ones. The most common are complex oak stands with share of oak trees between 30 and 40 per cent.
