STUDY OF DEAD WOOD CHARACTERISTICS ON THE I LEVEL FOREST MONITORING

Abstract

For the first time assessment of dead wood presence in forests of Ukraine was carried out at forest monitoring plots. It was found out that dead wood is registered at 60% of forest monitoring plots I level, mainly represented by sporadic standing dead trees, that indicates at an active removal of dead wood from forest. The analysis made it possible to obtain only a general understanding of dead wood presence in forests of Ukraine.
