There is pursued the analysis of forest litter research. Processed methodical approaches to the assessment of quantitative indicators of litter in birch forests. Carried out an experimental evaluation of litter in birch forests of Chernihivschyna. The birch forest litter mortmass may be 4-10 t·ha^-1 of absolutely dry matter. There is in the structure of mortmass forest litter more than 80% of absolutely dry matter accounts for defoliation. The features of the dynamics of mortmass birch litter with change of basic taxation indices are elucidated. Mathematical models of conversion factors for the assessment of birch forests litter mortmass in Chernihivschyna.
